Blackout For The Brett Englebright Memorial Fund

The Pekin Dragons Hockey Club is proud to announce that the Brett Englebright Memorial Fund has been selected as the 2026 Blackout Game Charity.

The Fund was established in 2020 to honor Brett Englebright — a beloved friend to many in the Central Illinois hockey community — following his passing on June 26, 2019. 

Due to concussions, Brett was forced to end his college hockey career early.

In Brett’s memory, the Fund has donated over $65,000 in the past five years to the Concussion Legacy Foundation, supporting awareness and research into head injuries in sports. In addition, the Fund contributes to local youth hockey programs and awards annual scholarships to 12U players who embody Brett’s spirit — respectful, hardworking, coachable, and outstanding teammates regardless of skill level.
